If the Relay is not powered on, it may be due to the battery being drained or the device simply needs to be powered on. You can identify if a Relay is powered off by pressing the talk or volume buttons to see if the Relay lights up or makes an audible sound.
If there are no visible or audible cues from the Relay, please place it on the charger for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, see if you're able to power on your Relay by removing the device from the charger and holding the power button for up to 60 seconds or until it vibrates, whichever comes first - How to charge your Relay.
The second and most likely reason is that the Relay does not have a cellular or WiFi data connection.
Relay operates using 4G LTE from one of the top nationwide carriers to provide you with service when WiFi is not available. But as we all know, cell service can vary based on certain factors such as indoor and outdoor coverage.
Much like your phone, if a Relay is experiencing connectivity issues, it should come back online on its own once it moves to an area with a better cellular data signal or if it connects to a previously saved WiFi network
Seeing the Relay go offline temporarily throughout the day is not uncommon, especially if the Relay is being used in certain locations such as schools which are notorious for bad cell signal.
For example, if a Relay goes offline once it arrives at a school, it's likely due to a poor data signal inside of the building. Once the Relay exits or moves to a different part of the building, it will come back online.
